Is western culture of education killing the work system? I know some of the people who have studied in western culture and now engaged in their own BUSINESS IN INDIA. If they deal in Indian market, then what is the use of their learning of western culture as they have to be in Indian way to make a deal. A perfect example would be, a person in my city who did his masters from England and now engaged in his fathers business. His business is totally based in domestic market, after spent 1 year in England he was unexpectedly a 'COOL DUDE'. He fired all of his office employees because of their work style, now what is left to say? There are loads of people like this 'cool dude'. Hmm.. I know you guys will be looking to chase me but I saved myself as I am not dealing domestically. So Cheers for all the 'Cool Dudes'.
Hi Raghav,
ReplyDeleteNice post done by you.
Yes Raghav, I also feel about the "Cool Dude" concept that many of the Bhariya people studying abroad forget the basic things needed here in order to work and carry on the business. The main difference lies in the production and marketing sectors as the clients and labour engaged in such business are many who are not well educated. So to deal with them one needs a completely different approach as compared to there.
It is also true that the social factors and beliefs also play an important role.
Let me share an example of my brother's experience. He is employed in an FMCG industry MNC. Now he is into office work but a few years back, he was engaged in field work. Then he used to tell me that most of the stockists that he used to deal with were not educated to understand the intricacies of modern sales techniques which officers like my brother had been trained for.
Similarly, employees here in Bharat also have a different working style.
So I have always believed that for some of the business units, studying abroad won't be of much help.
But yes for some sectors, it helps. For e.g., IT business. Since the standards of IT education is not of much difference, it really can help the young engineers to learn the discipline from the people working in the west and then employ those systems here. IT sector in our country, especially at the lower and mid level is very indisciplined and so if a young man wants to start a business, he should first understand the discipline needed to carry out such business. That discipline is needed in every field but in IT, it makes considerable impacts.
